Salt Spring Island Occupational Therapy provides compassionate, evidence-based services to support children and families in building skills, confidence, and independence in everyday life.

A Play-Based, Sensory-Informed Approach

Therapy is individualized, play-based, and guided by each child’s unique strengths, needs, and goals. Families are active partners throughout the process, with strategies designed to support progress not only during sessions, but at home, school, and in the community.

Our initial assessment provides a comprehensive understanding of your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. This process helps guide individualized therapy planning and ensures support is meaningful and relevant to everyday life.

Introductory Session

After our initial consultation, this individualized occupational therapy clinic session allows me to meet your child and family. Using activities, skilled observations, questionnaires, interviews and engagement, I will create a customized treatment plan for your child which may include future sessions, strategies and education.

Occupational Therapy Clinic Session

Therapy sessions are tailored to your child’s needs and focus on building functional skills through play-based, sensory-informed activities. Sessions support participation in daily routines such as self-care, learning, and social engagement.

Areas of Support

Occupational therapy may support children who experience challenges with:

  • Fine motor, visual motor, and coordination skills

  • Dressing and self-care routines

  • Sensory processing and its impact on daily functioning

  • Self-regulation and emotional regulation

  • Executive functioning, including organization and time management
